Eisenkern Keilerkopf - APC for my army of Space Nazis

I recently finished painting my first 2 keilerkopfs, from Dreamforge Games. These are the most complex kits I've ever assembled, but are quite rewarding, as the models are amazing, full of moving parts and thoroughly detailed.

The upper part of the chasis is left unglued, so you can remove it to check the inside, which is fully detailed. Once in place, this upper part fits nicely, and doesn't slip around. The kit also provides 10 extra models (in addition to the drivers) to be assembled sitting on the benches, representing a squad in transport. I chose to let them out, but this is an excellent addition to this top notch kit.

Another reason for the top to be removable is that there are a couple other weapon options about to be released and one of them requires the replacement of the top, as seen on this image I found on the web:

The excellence of this product shows in the little details, such as the glasses, which have a greenish finish that simulates the looks of bullet-proof glass. Outstanding!

Here is the second keilerkopf, painted with slightly different cammo stripes and a different coat of arms on the left side, but otherwise pretty identical to the first.

Here are some scale shots of the tank next to an eisenkern trooper. Pretty big vehicle!

And look at the number of moving parts on that model:

I liked the keilerkopf so much I'm ordering a couple more, along with some heavy troopers and heavy support also recently released by Dreamforge.

Eisenkern Support Weapons

Two kits of Eisenkern Support Weapons have left the paint desk, and are now ready to add their firepower to the rest of my army of Space Nazis. Each kit comes with 3 heavy weapon teams: one mortar, one anti-tank and one anti-infantry.

Each team has got 3 gunners, but I chose to use only 2 on the bases, as 3 seemed too clustered, and also because on most rules systems, 2 gunners is the standard to operate a heavy weapon. In case I need 3 gunners, I'll just add a guy on a small base next to the team and problem solved.

As usual for those new kits from Dreamforge, this is an excellent kit. Awesome sculpts, beautifully engineered, lots of bits to customize each base and, just as I like it, realistic proportioned guns. If there is a downside to this kit, it's perhaps the excessive number of parts each weapon breaks down to, requiring extensive assembly to have them done. Still, no big deal, and I suppose it'd be hard to engineer them any other way, given their design, anyway.

Troopers for my Space Nazi

As a side project to my Napoleonic armies, I'm painting more stuff for my Space Nazi. These are 40 eisenkern stormtroopers, from Dreamforge Games. Perfect models for this project.

In flesh, their paint scheme looks lighter. In the photos its almost as if they were black, but they are actually medium grey.

I used the accessory kit to customize them, with extra pockets, ammo magazines, etc. That kit also provides varied officer heads, which are quite useful to help make the squad leaders stand out visually.
