Tanks from Dust

I had a couple tanks from Dust Tactics/Warfare primed and ready for painting for several months already, and last saturday on our club we had a "tank workshop", so I finally got the motivation to sit down and get them painted.

I used the same paint scheme of my space nazi vehicles, as these are probably going to serve that army, even though the tanks are designed for the soviets in Dust, and are largely based on the KV tanks of WWII.

The models above are identical. Each kit comes with both weapons choices, which can be exchanged easily, so I didn't even bother magnetizing them.

Here we can see how the weapons attach to the turret:

The kit also comes with a radar, which fits on the back of the turret, and I believe is meant to go with the anti-air version (the quad-gun below).

Here are some comparison pics of one of the tanks next to an eisenkern stormtrooper. You can se it's a pretty big model:

And here are a couple pics from the event on our club last saturday. This favorite blogger of yours is the guy on the dark blue shirt, on the far left of the pic below, accompanied by the awesome chaps of the Tropas Polares Gaming Club:

More power-armored Space nazis

... Because there is no such thing as too many power-armored Space Nazis, right?! Specially when they come with twin-linked machine guns on a large shield, and a powered dagger, to close the deal at close quarters, if needed be.

Even though I quite like those Dust models, they have the downside of being made of plastic resin, which means they suffer from some bending here and there. Nothing that can't be fixed with the hot water-cold water technique, though. This guy on the left of the pic below, for instance, has a bended weapon, which I already fixed with hot water but was too lazy to photograph again (!).

By the way, these guys in bright black armor will be from the SS. On my fluff for the 4º Reich, the SS employs specially engineered super soldiers, that some suspect to be clones, and that are unbreakable on their resolve to serve the Reich. These are the elite of my Space Nazi, and to further emphasize the mistery that involves their true nature (and perhaps, to hide the fact that they are all clones), they are always masked. Only superior officers of the SS ever show up unmasked.

The bright paint doesn't come out very well on pics, lots of details don't pop up, but in flesh, those models do look good in bright black armor. I used some Eisenkern spare heads to come up with these models, in place of the stahlhelm used by the the guys featuring on the pics far above.

Dust Warfare, Part 2: The Walkers

On this second installment of my newly acquired army show off, we feature the Axis walkers. I placed a trooper besides every vehicle to give you guys a sense of scale.

Heinrich

The Heinrich is one of the 2 weapon options for the Light Walker. The other one is the Hermann.

Hermann

The Heinrich is the anti-personel version, capable of firing massive rounds against enemy troops. The Hermann, on the other side, if armed to blow tanks with its powerful "Laserkanone".

Ludwig

The medium walkers has got 3 weapon options. The Ludwig above, the Lothar and the Luther.

Check how beautifully detailed this model is.

Lothar

Luther

Konigsluther

Finnaly, the heavy walker. A true beast as you can see. The version above is very powerful against tanks and   troops.

Another comparison shot: Konig and a Space Marine Land Raider

Sturmkonig

This second version is less powerful against tanks and troops (although still deadly) but should be able to blow aircrafts up in a million pieces with ease.

That's all for now. Hopefully, I'll get some time soon to clean those models off any mold lines and start doing some painting!
