The Mighty Emperor of Mankind and His Marshals

Today I finished painting my 40k Characters I purchased from Scibor Miniatures. Here are the pics:

A little 40k

6Âș Edition had the effect of renewing my interest on 40k. I currently have a Black Templar army, and am on the process of beggining my second army: The Imperial Fists.

But before I started investing on the IF, I thought there were still some positions needing filling on my BT, maily on the Independent Character department.

I recently found an awesome store on the net that sells many different models to go with fantasy and sci-fi 28mm games, the Scibor Miniatures.

Their models are expensive, no doubt, but it is not like you're going to build an entire army with them. You just need 1 or 2 to boost the looks of your army on the table. And they do their job rather well!

Looking at the pics on their site, I could see they were high quality, but when they arrived on the mail yesterday, I realized I wasn't ready for the actual models standing in front of me!

This is not high quality casting, my friends. This is top quality! This is as fine as casting can go. Period. The models are unbelievably well done. Check the pics:

And here is the Emperor of Mankind:

This is the "Caesar of Rome" model, cleary supposed to represent the imortal regent of the Imperium. I'm particularly attracted by the figure of The Emperor on the 40k universe. There is something deeply inspiring about him and I always wanted to have his model, but since GW doesn't make one, I started looking elsewhere, and this is how I found Scibor Miniatures in the first place.

The model below is a freebie I got from Scibor (!). What a great costumer service!

This guy carries a dice tray on his back, which can prove to be quite handy on a game.

Another great aspect about those models is their bases. They are master pieces, as you can see:

This one above is going to support the Emperor. It is not the one that came with him - his was somewhat more elaborated - but I think this one makes him stand out more, as it is more elevated.

Now, let's take a look at the size of the models. Even though they are 28mm, they are huge, probably because they are supposed to represent the Emperor and the Primarchs, which we all know were tall beyond the standard for a normal man - they were almost giants!

The only problem with this is that the rest of my Scibor minis are going to represent Black Templar marshalls in Terminator Armor, and those guys shouldn't be any taller than a regular Terminator, but that's fine, anyway. At least now I finally have something that can look intimidating enough on the table to oppose my friends' Ghaz Kuls and Deamons of all sorts.

Since I've been on the mood for all things involving 40k, lately, I decided to improve the painting of some of my models I wasn't particularly happy with. Here is the final result:

I'll be on vacation next week, so I'll try to get some more ship stats done for Pax Stellarum - if I can bring myself to stop working on my 40k army for a while, that is...
